AIN’T I A WOMAN? SEX WORKERS’ RIGHTS ARE WOMEN’S RIGHTS
Between March 12-14, 2009, a dialogue between sex workers and violence against women advocates took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The ‘Ain’t I a Woman?’ meeting aimed to forge stronger connections between sex workers’ and violence against women’s movements.
2009年3月12〜14日、セックスワーカーと女性に対する暴力についての活動者との対話が、タイ・バンコクで開催されました。『私は、「女」ではないのか？AIN’T I A WOMAN?』というタイトルのこの会合は、セックスワーカーの運動と女性に対する暴力の運動の結びつきを強めることを目的にして開催されました。
女性運動は、ずっと、包括的で多様性を認めるよう裾野を広げるという課題に直面してきました。『私は、「女」ではないのか？AIN’T I A WOMAN?』という言葉は、アフリカ系で反奴隷制の活動者Sojourner Truthさんがオハイオ州の女性会議で演説したときのタイトルです。
ナイジェリア、ポーランド、フィリピン、インド、パキスタン、ミャンマー、タイ、イギリス、アメリカ合州国、オーストラリア、インドネシア、カナダ、オランダとマレーシアなど世界中から、30人が参加しました。CREA (Creating Resources for Empowerment in Action, India) と CASAM (SANGRAM’s Centre for Advocacy on Stigma and Marginalisation, India)の主催によるものでした。セックスワークの現場で起きている暴力について、なぜ暴力として扱われないかの議論がなされ、トラフィッキングと同視されていることの問題性も指摘されたようです。
日常的には侵害されているが、セックスワーカーの人権として次のようなものがあると主催者は述べています。
- The right to live in a clean and healthy environment;
- 清潔で健康的な環境で生きる権利;
- Freedom from exploitation;
- 搾取からの自由;
- Freedom from societal violence;
- 社会的暴力からの自由;
- Freedom from discrimination and stigma;
- 差別と汚名からの自由;
- Freedom from the accusation of being traffickers or associates of traffickers;
- トラフィッキング関係者として起訴されない自由;
- Freedom to walk into a police station and file a complaint against those who exploit them;
- 搾取をした人を掲示する自由;
- Freedom to report abuse, sexual violence, exploitation, coercion, debt bondage and slavery-like practices; and
- 虐待、性暴行、搾取、強制、負債による拘束と奴隷制度のような実践を通報する自由;
- Freedom to access health care and to ensure condom use.
- ヘルスケアを利用でき、コンドーム使用を確実にする自由。
