Stand up and be counted!
For a woman's right to choose

International Women's Day event - 8th March
Saturday 8th March

Assemble 12.30pm on the green outside the Queen Elizabeth II centre opposite Parliament

Nearest tube: Westminster

83 per cent of people support a woman's right to choose yet abortion rights are set to come under the biggest attack in 18 years in Parliament this spring. Women need more rights to choose, not less. Abortion Rights will be calling public events including a mass lobby of Parliament at strategic points in the parliamentary timetable to make sure MPs know women's views in the run up to the key votes on the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.

Join us on International Women's Day to form a human chain spelling out the pro-choice majority. Special guests to be announced.

The event is called in association with the huge CapitalWoman conference hosted by the Mayor of London, with guest speaker Angela Davis.

All pro-choice supporters welcome!

Abortion Rights seminar
As part of the CapitalWoman conference Abortion Rights will hold a seminar outlining the latest on the Bill and campaign. The seminar will be at 3pm. To attend, please register for the Capital Woman conference for free at www.london.gov.uk/capitalwoman or call 020 7983 4579.

Pro-choice action across the country
Supporters are encouraged to mark the day by joining us in London or linking up with International Women's Day events across the country to raise the pro-choice message. Abortion Rights will also take its banner on the Million Women Rise demonstration in central London. Alternatively you could organise your own street stall, film screening or fundraising initiative and encourage friends to make a difference by JOINING ABORTION RIGHTS online as an individual member!

Please encourage others to keep in touch and receive regular email briefings on the Bill and campaign by adding their email address at the 'action alert' button on the campaign website.
